Wondenia is our main stud with the Denmire and F2F studs part of our breeding herd run by the Dench family at Gilgandra in central NSW. In normal seasons we would run around 150 breeders but due to the recent 3 years of drought we are just over half this number. Wondenia commenced breeding Fleckvieh Simmental cattle in 1972 and have now notched up almost 50 years breeding these great cattle.

Our breeding aim

Our aim has always been to produce a type of cattle which are middle of the road easy doing with plenty of growth, muscling and softness and which have plenty of milk, all of which are required by the commercial industry to be able to turn off cattle into a range of markets from vealers through to bullocks depending on the seasons and the environment. With the ability to turn off as vealers or grow on to bullocks without just going to fat is important with Australia’s variably climate.
